Dear Parents,
Welcome to Kindergarten! We have gotten off to a great start in our fun-filled, busy classroom so far. I have enjoyed meeting your children and learning more about their little personalities as each day passes.
I am so excited to get started on the many activities planned for this year. During the first few weeks of school, the students will be working on a variety of review learning games, activities, and worksheets as they settle into the new routines and procedures. We will slowly begin to build skill levels as the students’ progress. I am currently in the process of assessing your children which I will use as a tool for helping me give them the best start possible.
A few notes…
*Please remember to check our class website often for any announcements and schedules. I will begin posting pictures of the students on the website under the “kinder cuties” tab as soon as the proper paperwork is signed allowing permission to post. This information can be found on your Aeries account.
*All classwork done during the week will be handed back to the students to take home in their backpacks on Fridays. We also do quite a large amount of art in our class which I like to use to decorate around the room. I will send all of your child’s art home at the end of the month. Please feel free to come in the classroom after school to look at the art and other assignments on the bulletin boards.
*”About Your Child” forms will be sent home today. Please return as soon as possible. The forms really help me to learn about your child from your perspective.
I will be giving out a lot of information regarding expectations, procedures, special activities, Common Core Standards and other pertinent topics during “Back to School Night” on August 31st. If you have any questions or concerns before then, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available on most days after school and of course through E-mail. I am looking forward to a fabulous year!
